2024 Recap
The only surprising thing about the 2024 3rd Annual Frilling Gingerbread Competition was the lack of cheating we have seen prevalent in previous years. The strong favorite Megan Frilling was crowned champion last year and had the largest margin of victory ever documented in an Ohio based family gingerbread competition*. Can she continue her reign of terror or will a new victory take the newly constructed Tri-Frilling Trophy?
MEGAN FRILLING
Undeniably the best Gingerbread House contestant to date and your reigning Champion. Tallying over 55% of all 1st place votes throughout the years, she is a menace when it comes to gingerbread. Is she really just that good or is just a master cheater?

Chasing back-to-back-to-back titles, she has more to lose than the rest of the field combined. Can she continue her other-worldly reign of terror or will the greatest to ever gingerbread crumble under the sprinkles and icing to disappoint all her loyal fans? Only time will tell how her story ends…but hopefully in defeat God willing.

EMMA FRILLING
Winner of the inaugural GBH competition in 2022 and probably the best contender to dethrone Megan as champion. She was convicted of small crimes in the competition last year. Can she reclaim her crown or will she put up another lackluster performance?
Emma Frilling
She is one of the premier gingerbread architects of this generation but has been plagued by lackluster performances over the last two years. With past performances of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively, one could say she is destined for 4th this year. The real question is can she get her sh*t together or will her road lead her further into the pit of despair?

COLE FRILLING
The best of us, creator of this website, and possibly your 2024 GBH champion. Cole is the GBH reigning Loser and will have to make some major changes if he wants to win this year.
COLE FRILLING
This contestant knows only failure and defeat in this competition. His confidence has been shaken by back-to-back 5th place performances and he is in desperate need of a turnaround. Does this year have the makings of the largest comeback victory known to gingerbread competitions in the state of Ohio or will he win the title of worst gingerbread builder to walk the Earth. Either way this contestant will win something when the clock strikes zero.

BETH FRILLING
Possibly one of the most controversial contestants due to cheating allegations from 2022. She’s cleaned up her act and is looking to make her mark on the GBH world this year with a strong performance to move up the leaderboard.
Beth Frilling
Her performance last Christmas was truly the turnaround story we had all been waiting for, by placing 2nd she shocked the gingerbread community. She’s struck fear into her opponents’ hearts (or at least Emma’s) and has everyone wondering what she will do next. Did she just catch lightning in a bottle or does she have the talent to be a household name? My crystal ball is still cloudy regarding her fate but it seems the force is strong with this one.

JAY FRILLING
On the other hand we have easily the most laid back contestant of the bunch which is quite the shock. No prior convictions or allegations, and in his own words he has described himself as a “martyr” of the GBH competition. As a result he has yet to place higher than 4th.
JAY FRILLING
The self-described “martyr” of the Frilling Gingerbread Competition is back minus one working ankle (please see attached photo). Will this physical hinderance hold back his robust gingerbreading skills or will his newfound bionic strength propel him even further? He has spent most of the year advocating for shorter competition or eliminating it entirely. Some may say it’s because his family has taken the “fun” out of the sport due to over-competitiveness but we would argue it’s due to his poor performances in past years…
LYLA FRILLING
Lyla, a.k.a. “Stinky”, is not an official contestant in the Frilling Gingerbread Competition but tries as hard as anyone. She has been known to steal a cookie or two dozen (yes, two dozen…) but she continues to be a favorite among contestants and fans. I would refer to her as one of the best vacuum cleaners money can’t buy, her skills are some of the best in the world. She is a specialist in removing the following items from your floor:
- Food that looks appetizing
- Food that does NOT look appetizing but is dipped in ranch
